"Memory as Resistance"

An exploration of the cultural, existential crisis of Diasporic women, fragmentation of the self through physical displacement and retracing threads of memory. The work created during the residency at Dove Street Studios includes film, installation, and performance as tools of excavating the past in order to understand the present, rituals for healing trauma, and relationships Indigenous/Black people have with the land they were stolen from and taken to. The final work created for the private view was a collection of objects, film, installation and performance.

The films screened during this show can be found on the FILM page
